Role play game (RPG) led Dramatherapy combines therapeutic practice with collaborative storytelling and role-playing games. By creating characters and exploring shared narratives, clients can develop insight, confidence, emotional awareness, and new ways of understanding themselves and their relationships, contained in the safety of the therapy space and creative world. By working with RPG’s clients can explore their own identity to build self-esteem and understanding, either as a group or in an 1:1 session.

This is supported by my current PhD research into the over lap of Dungeons and Dragons and dramatherapyas a therapeutic intervention.

I also offer a longer length of this session to allow for deeper immersion into the story telling and game.

What is Dramatherapy?

Dramatherapy is in the family of Creative Arts Therapies, it is a form of psychological therapy that uses creativity, imagination, storytelling, and dramatic processes to support emotional well-being and personal growth. Unlike traditional talking therapies, Dramatherapy can offer a range of ways to explore experiences, feelings, and relationships, including metaphor, role-play, movement, creative expression, and narrative.

No previous experience of drama or acting is required. Dramatherapy provides a safe and supportive space where people can explore challenges, gain new perspectives, develop resilience, and discover fresh possibilities for change.

I am a fully registered member of both the British Association of Dramatherapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
